  Changes Required:

  • Widespread elimination of geographic and setting location requirements (rural areas)
  • Expanding the types of technology that can be used (remote monitoring)
  • Coverage of service (severe limitations on approved services)

  FCC Rural Health Care Program: 

  • Supports broadband adoption but there is an insufficient level of subsidy to remote health care providers.
  • Proposal by FCC: Connected Care Pilot: greater investment in broadband access

  • Develop features and capabilities that allow for reporting and monitoring of the legal and regulatory challenges, such as privacy and security, fraud, abuse, along with medical malpractice and professional liability.
